PF claim rejected: father's or husband's name mismatch: step-by-step
Rule source: EPFO Circular No. WSU/2024/1/SOP_JD/2009 dated 16 January 2025 & SOP Circular No. WSU/2022/1/SOP_Joint_Declaration/31037. Checked on 11 October 2026.
Understanding Father’s or Husband’s Name Mismatch
EPFO member profiles require accurate recording of the member’s father’s name (or husband’s name for married women). Discrepancies between bank records, Aadhaar, and EPFO records lead to manual rejection during field office claim processing.
How to Submit Correction (Joint Declaration)
- Download Joint Declaration: Obtain the standard EPFO Joint Declaration form (Annexure-I).
- Fill Correction Details: Mention wrong entry vs correct entry for Father/Husband name.
- Attach ID Proof: Attach self-attested Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Marriage Certificate.
- Employer Attestation: Get signature and company seal from your employer HR.
- Submit to EPFO: Submit online or to the regional EPFO office holding your PF account.
